Who owns and maintains this website
Elopement Weddings Queenstown is owned and maintained by Wonder Weddings, a Queenstown elopement planning, photography and filmmaking team. This website is not a third-party publication and does not present itself as independent of Wonder Weddings.
The website provides planning guidance and decision support: comparisons, cost frameworks, seasonal detail and interactive tools that help couples make their own decisions. Wonder Weddings provides the commercial services — planning, photography, filmmaking and elopement packages. Enquiries and bookings are handled there.
How first-hand experience is used
Most of what is written here comes from running elopement days in this landscape: which ceremony sites hold up in spring wind, how the light behaves behind the Remarkables in May, how often a helicopter morning is stood down in a given season, how long the walk in really takes with a dress and a guest in their seventies. Where a statement rests on our own operational experience rather than a published source, we say so on the page.
How factual and operational information is reviewed
Before publishing, factual and operational content is checked by a Queenstown planning lead who works these days on the ground. Anything that touches legal process, access permissions or aviation operations is checked against the relevant official source or the operator concerned, rather than restated from memory or from other websites.
We do not publish invented statistics, reviews, awards, client names, safety claims or operational procedures. If we cannot verify something, it is left out.
How sources are selected
We prefer, in order: New Zealand government and local authority publications for legal and permit information; the operators and celebrants who deliver the service for operational detail; and our own records for planning ranges and timings. Commercial competitors are not used as a source. External sources are linked directly on the page they support.
How often volatile information is reviewed
- Cost ranges and package structures: reviewed at least every six months.
- Legal and licence requirements, permits and access rules: reviewed at least every six months, and immediately if we become aware of a change.
- Seasonal, weather and helicopter guidance: reviewed annually before each main season.
- Location entries: reviewed annually, or sooner if access conditions change.
Each guide shows the date it was last genuinely reviewed. A review date is only updated when the content has actually been re-checked.
How to request a correction
If something here is wrong or out of date, email info@wonderweddings.co.nz or use the contact page. Tell us the page and what is inaccurate. We aim to respond within five working days, and we correct the page and update its review date when a correction is accepted.
How commercial relationships are disclosed
Every link to a commercial service is labelled. Links to Wonder Weddings are marked as leaving this resource for the operator that runs it. We also link to Eureka Films, the wedding film team we work alongside, for readers who want film coverage only. There is no paid advertising and no affiliate income on this site.
Cost figures published here are planning ranges seen across the district. They are not Wonder Weddings quotations. Wonder Weddings pricing is published separately on the Wonder Weddings website.
Photographs, films and real elopements
Photographs and films on this site were made by Wonder Weddings and Eureka Films unless otherwise credited. Real elopement stories and imagery are published only with the couple’s permission, and a couple can ask for their material to be removed at any time. Images are not staged as something other than what they are: a helicopter image shows a real helicopter day, and a location image shows that location.
Legal information
Everything published here about marriage licences, documentation and permissions is general planning information for New Zealand, not legal advice. For your own circumstances, rely on the official government guidance and, where relevant, your own legal adviser.
Things that change
Prices, access rules, permit conditions, supplier availability, helicopter operations and location conditions all change, sometimes at short notice and sometimes on the day. Treat the detail here as a planning baseline and confirm the specifics for your own date with the people delivering it.
